Art Tour Ten, a cooperative of local professional artists in Southwest Virginia, has a show at the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley through Feb. 29.
The group formed a couple of years ago and has since produced two successful fall driving studio tours. Although membership has changed over the course of their existence, one thing remains: excellent work in a myriad of styles and media.
Anne Fournier Anderson creates pit-fired ceramics, Sue E. Brozoysky is a stone sculptor, Jennifer Collins is an oil painter [sample of her work shown above], Aileen Fletcher is a photographer and Carter Holliday creates one-of-a-kind decorative pieces that reflect his love of the natural world and music, Kendall Kessler works in oil paints and pastels, Susan Lockwood is a photographer, David Stanley creates hand-thrown, functional stoneware, Jean Sumner creates functional and decorative pieces from wood, and Rhonda Whitehurst shows her love of glass and art in the blending of traditional and abstract.
The Fine Arts Center of the NRV is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You can access a link to Art Tour Ten’s website to view a sample of their artwork.
