New River Community College will offer several computer training workshops beginning this month. One-day courses include Introduction to PCs (ITEC 1101-CM) on Sept. 7; Windows (ITEC 1102-CM) on Sept. 14; Beginning Word (ITEC 1103-CM) on Sept. 21; Intermediate Word (ITEC 1104-CM) on Sept. 28; Advanced Word (ITEC 1105-CM) on Oct. 5; Beginning Excel (ITEC 1106-CM) on Oct. 12; Intermediate Excel (ITEC 1107-CM) on Oct. 19; Advanced Excel (ITEC 1108-CM) on Oct. 26; Beginning Access (ITEC 1109-CM) on Nov. 2; Intermediate Access (ITEC 1110-CM) on Nov. 9; Advanced Access (ITEC 1111-CM) on Nov. 16; and PowerPoint (ITEC 1112-CM) on Nov. 30.

Classes will meet from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the college’s New River Valley Mall site in Christiansburg. Tuition is $85 per course and the textbook is included. Certificates will be provided and .55 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded upon successful completion of the course(s). Registration one week in advance is encouraged.

A short course on the Internet (ITEC 1124-CM) will also be offered at NRCC’s mall site on Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. Tuition for this class is $46 and the textbook is included.
