The Zephyr Lightning Bolts, an old-time bluegrass band from Zephyr, N.C., and Appalachian Countdown from Bluefield, W.Va., will be featured performers during New River Community College’s Fiddle, Banjo and Dance Club Jamboree to be held on Jan. 12.

The jamboree will be held in Edwards Hall, room 117 from 7 to 10 p.m. at NRCC’s campus in Dublin.

The doors open at 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission; however, donations will be accepted to help pay travel expenses for the musicians. The Jamborees are held the second Saturday of each month from October through April at NRCC.

Other groups scheduled to perform later in the season are Adam Larkey & Mountain Time and Larry Sigmon & Barbara Poole on Feb. 9, John Viers & Friends and The Bogtrotters on March 8, and Whitetop Mountain and Bent Hickory on April 12.
