barefootmovement.jpgName? The Barefoot Movement

Where are you based? Johnson City, Tennessee

Where do you typically tour or perform?
All over the East Coast, from Georgia to New York City.

What’s your most recent CD?
We have a five song sampler featuring music from our upcoming record we’ll be recording at the end of this month.

Who are your musical influences? Nickel Creek, Tim O’Brien, The Dillards, Bob Dylan, Old Crow Medicine Show, Doc Watson, Peter Rowan, Patty Griffin, Townes Van Zandt, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin … too many!

Who are some musical acts that sound like you? We’d probably be most comparable to a more old-time sounding Nickel Creek.

Why should I come see you at the festival? We have a lot of compelling original songs, but we also are deeply rooted in Old-Time Appalachian music. So we bring a really fun mix to the stage.

When will you be playing?  Workshop Porch at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, and several times on the VIP stages.

What are you most looking forward to about playing at FloydFest?
Listening to music is just as fun as playing it, so it’s going to be great to be able to do both. We look forward to getting away from everyday life and really living FloydFest to the fullest!
