Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, the roof of the Blacksburg High School gym collapsed.  Blacksburg Fire officials said the roof is completely destroyed. No one was inside the gym when it collapsed, though a couple hours earlier the girl’s basketball team had been practicing and just minutes before a school representative and engineer had been inside inspecting the gym prior to deciding vacating the gym was necessary.
