In celebration of Black History Month, Asbury United Methodist Church will present James Weldon Johnson’s “God’s Trombones,” seven Negro sermons in verse.
The Asbury Choir will provide the music with featured guest artists The Glorylanders of the New River Valley and Dr. Gena Chandler, soprano, a Virginia Tech English professor. The opening prayer and all seven sermons will be performed by members of the Asbury congregation.

Awesome! Thanks for posting this. “Go Down Death” from God’s Trombones has long been a family favorite.
