Radford University will hold a Commencement Ceremony for Winter 2009 graduates on Sunday, Feb, 7, at 2 p.m. in Preston Hall’s Bondurant Auditorium. The original ceremonies, scheduled for Dec. 18 and 19 were canceled due to the major winter storm that blanketed the area with snow and shut down most of western Virginia’s roadways and transportation systems.
“Graduation ceremonies are such an important part of the university experience for our students and their families,” said Radford University President Penelope W. Kyle. “We’re very pleased to be able to reschedule our ceremonies and present them as part of our annual Homecoming Weekend festivities.”
A single ceremony will be held for both undergraduate and graduate students. The traditional “Pinning Ceremony” for Waldron School of Health and Human Services’ nursing students will be held Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. in Porterfield Hall’s Pridemore Playhouse. Although the ceremonies will be held in 2010, the graduates are officially 2009 graduates of Radford University.
Graduates who had planned to participate in the Winter 2009 Commencement will be sent information pertaining to the rescheduled ceremony.
