Time is running out to visit The Art and Life of Karen Carrino and the Floyd County High School Instructors’ Choice Exhibit at The Jacksonville Center for the Arts. Both exhibits will end on Saturday, Jan. 23.

“Both of these exhibits, and the Blue Mountain School exhibit, demonstrate how talented young people can be, and how vital arts education is,” said Jayn Avery, member of the Hayloft Gallery Committee.

Participating high school artists include: Dakota Galla, Amanda Griffith, Cheyenne Williams, Katie Long, Alexis Roop, James Bohnke, Janessa Bolt, Haley Phillips, Bradley Lawson, Lewis Williams, Elizabeth Simpson, Sara Dominguez, Lydia Scott Prokosh, Jessica Ratcliff, Olivia Taylor, Kat Mills, Cassidy Miller, Russell Callahan, Victoria Conner, Elaina Sutphin, Ashton Lytton, Heather Linkous, Amber Ingram, Leanna Mattson, Amanda Wilson, Brooke Conner, Monika Mattson, Christen Chavarria and Danielle Harris.

The Blue Mountain School Exhibit will remain in Lora Leigh Giessler’s studio at the center through February. Upcoming Hayloft Gallery and Breezeway Gallery exhibits will open on Jan. 29 and feature photography by the Blue Ridge Camera Club.

The center’s regular winter hours of operation through March are: Monday and Tuesdays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Wednesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.; and closed on Sundays.
