Bond to Speak at RU MLK Event Jan. 20

NAACP Chair Julian Bond, a prominent leader in the American Civil Rights Movement, will be the keynote speaker at “The Road To The Dream,” Radford University’s celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Wednesday, Jan. 20. Bond will speak at 7 p.m. in Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall. A reception and candlelight march follow.Julian BondBond is a social activist, professor, and published writer. He was the first president of the Southern Poverty Law Center and served in the Georgia legislature for 20 years. Bond has been NAACP chair since 1998.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, the Student Government Association, Diversity Awareness Programming, Men of Standards, the NAACP, Black Student Awareness Committee, Chi Upsilon Sigma, Campus Programming Committee and the Dean of Students office.
