The Fiddle, Banjo and Dance Club at New River Community College will host a free concert on Saturday, Nov. 14. The concert will showcase performances from bluegrass performers John Viers and Friends along with Zephyr Lightning Bolts.
The evening’s events will also include a Veterans Day observance. Nearly 100 Vietnam veterans from the Narrows, Radford, and Pulaski VFW posts will be honored for their service. There will also be a special tribute to Vietnam POW Julius Long, who recently passed away. All the veterans in attendance will be recognized for their service.
The concert will be held in Edwards Hall at NRCC in Dublin. Doors open at 5 p.m. with live music from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission to the concert is free; however, donations will be accepted to help cover band expenses.
The college hosts monthly bluegrass and old-time concerts October though April. Additional information is available at 540.674.3600, ext. 4307, or online.
