Chrysalis, located on Main Street in Radford, will have special events in the days surrounding Halloween. It will participate in Friday’s Trick or Treat Trail in downtown Radford from 3 to 6 p.m. and will follow that event with a Chocolate Ritual, which is is a family-friendly event.

“The chocolate ritual is actually a performance piece we are putting on for everyone downtown on the 30th,” said Chrysalis owner Suzanne. “It’s ‘based’ on  the workings of an actual ritual but it itself isn’t actually a ritual. It was written in the 90s and is a great way to introduce ourselves to the general public and show that we have fun in what we do and we’re here if they want to ask questions.”

The Chocolate Ritual is expected to begin at about 6:30 p.m.

Author of the book, Awaken, Chris Van Dyk, will be at Chrysalis on Oct. 31, from 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. doing a book signing. Awaken is about the town of Hollowstone and a group of students who come across zombies.
