A news Web site—NRVHub.com —will premier in the New River Valley on Oct. 15. It features articles and information from Montgomery County, Giles County, Floyd County, Pulaski County, and the City of Radford.
In addition to including a vast range of community coverage, NRVHub boasts pictures, video ads, video news and a social media edge to include Twitter, Facebook and various blogs. Local businesses will also be able to send SMS text messages to NRVHub.com users advising them of limited time specials on products.
User participation is encouraged at NRVHub. Site visitors will be able to submit video clips, stories, and story ideas.
“We want to provide a central location for all residents to depend upon for just about everything relative to living and working in the New River Valley,” said site founder Monica Hebert.
“The New River Valley is a convergence of technology, economic development and budding ideas mixed with Southwestern Virginia hospitality and some of the best people in the world. The strength of our community gives us the power to just about anything. I love the NRV,” Hebert said.
The Hub will be offering $500 to the church that brings the most readers to the site by the end of October. The Hub will have an option for readers to register and on the profile registration form is a box or field where the new user can type in the name of his or her church affiliation. At the end of the month, the Hub will donate $500 to the church that has brought in the most readers.
There must be more than 100 new Hub members that listed your congregation for your church to qualify for the $500 donation.
