In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Radford University Police are giving notice of a sexual assault by a stranger that occurred Oct. 8 between 3:30 and 4 a.m. near Peters Hall on the Radford University campus.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’1’’ with dark “spiked” hair that was cut short in the back, with sideburns and bushy eyebrows. He was described as wearing metal circular framed eyeglasses, a red shirt with a collar and dark jeans. The male was also described as speaking with a “southern” accent.
RU police are investigating the incident and encourage all members of the community to continue using basic safety practices such as walking in groups after dark and staying in well-lit areas when walking. The campus community is reminded that the Radford University Police Department is available to provide safety escorts on campus.
