This week Sunken Garden Sundays, the summer concert series held at Nesselrod on the New in Fairlawn, offers The Infamous Stringdusters along with local group Blue Moonshine.
Three-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award winning band and Sugar Hill recording artist, The Infamous Stringdusters will headline the show at Sunken Garden Amphitheatre at Nesselrod on the New Sunday, June 21.
Though the band is rooted in the traditions of bluegrass, fans can expect to hear a mix of country, bluegrass, and free-form improvisations that help make every show a one-of-a-kind experience.
With a solid repertoire of original songs compiled from their two Sugar Hill albums, plus new songs and a constantly changing set list the band continues to pick up new fans.
The Infamous Stringdusters are the new vanguard of acoustic music. Well-crafted songs, vivid arrangements, instrumental virtuosity, stunning improvisation, unique individuality, and complete harmony combine in a mix of bluegrass, rock, country, blues, folk, and jazz that is American acoustic music.
The show begins at 5 p.m. with Blue Moonshine, a quartet of bluegrass-based musicians from Floyd and Roanoke.
As always, this event will be hosted by a local community-based organization that will receive a percentage of the proceeds to support their efforts.
Tickets for the show are $10 for lawn seating and $15 for the garden amphitheatre. The garden amphitheatre is open to 21 and over (17 and under accompanied by a legal guardian; children under 12, free admission), please be prepared to present a valid ID.
