Sunken Garden Sundays, hosted by Grind Stone Productions LLC, in cooperation with DLP Concerts, presents Chris Duarte. Duarte will be playing at the Sunken Garden Amphitheatre at Nesselrod on the New in Radford, Virginia, on Sunday, June 14, at 5 p.m. Triscale will open the event for Chris Duarte.

Duarte has been touring the national scene now for 18 years and still he strives for new artistic creativity. Known for his energizing and passionate playing, he leaves audiences in frenzies and at times exhausted from his unique aggressive approach toward music.

Duarte is a San Antonio native who chose the guitar at the age of 15 as his choice instrument. After dropping out of high school at 16 he met a man by the name of John Jordan who would become his best friend and co-founder of The Chris Duarte Group. Jordan, like Duarte, was born with music in his blood.

Although Jordan’s first instrument was piano, he became the bass guitarist for the Chris Duarte Group. Together they have performed more than 300 shows on average per year for over 15 years straight.

Opening on Sunday evening is Roanoke-based Triscale, a powerhouse trio that was formed in 2006. The idea was to mix rock with some funk, throw a little jazz and reggae on the top and serve it up with a side of southern attitude.

Tickets for Chris Duarte with Triscale are $10 for lawn seating and $15 for the garden amphitheatre. The garden amphitheatre is open to 21 and over (17 and under accompanied by a legal guardian; children under 12, free admission), please be prepared to present a valid ID.
