Chatham County Line plays at Nesselrod on the New June 7.Chatham County Line will be playing at the Sunken Garden Amphitheatre at Nesselrod on the New in Radford, Virginia, on Sunday, June 7, at 5 p.m.  The Harwell Grice Band will open the event.

Chatham County Line is a North Carolina quartet that fuses old-time, gather-’round-the-microphone bluegrass with a love for John Hartford, The Band, The Jayhawks, Wilco, and traditional American-made music.

Chatham County Line is an all-acoustic band comprised of guitarist/lead vocalist Dave Wilson, bassist Greg Readling, fiddler/mandolin player John Teer and banjoist Chandler Holt. The band is fresh off a whirlwind of critical and commercial success in Europe following the release (and #2 Norwegian chart debut) of Amerikabesok, their album with Norwegian legend Jonas Fjeld.

The band’s newest album IV marks a stark evolution for the band. Chief songwriter Dave Wilson remarks, “Before, we were trying to fit into this one niche because of the instruments we like to play. But now we just look at our instruments as our instruments and it’s all about taking that and evolving into the band we are and want to be.”

Opening the evening for Chatham County Line is The Harwell Grice Band. The Harwell Grice Band has been entertaining audiences throughout Virginia for the past five years. The Radford University alumni offer original bluegrass and Americana mixed with a larger repertoire of traditional and even a few popular covers result.

This event will be hosted by the Greater New River Valley American Red Cross, which will receive a percentage of the proceeds to support their efforts.
