Radford Plans Memorial Day Service

Radford’s 11th annual Memorial Day service features patriotic music by the Radford High School Band, a traditional 21-gun salute by members of VFW Post 776, Radford Army Ammunition Plant Commander Col. Jon Drushal, Delegate David Nutter, “Amazing Grace” by local piper Andrew Meeks, dedication of a new plaque to World War One veterans in the Bisset Park Veteran’s Memorial Garden, a reading of the names of the 60 Radford members of the various military who gave their lives in battle in past wars, and “Taps” played by bugler Gary Jackson, U.S. Army Retired.

Activities begin at 11 a.m. Monday, May 25, at the Gazebo in Bisset Park. It is free and open to the public, rain or shine. Contact Bob Thomas at 540.633.0081 for more information.
