Moog Components Group announced this week that the Company is constructing a new 72,550 square foot building located adjacent to the current location at 1213 North Main Street in Blacksburg.

The new facility will house a variety of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, and testing. Moog designs and manufactures high-performance motion and fiber optic components for medical, industrial, aerospace, and defense applications. There are two other Moog locations in Blacksburg.

Moog Components Group is one of the largest manufacturers in the New River Valley with more than 1,100 employees who work in a variety of production, technical, engineering, and business functions. Moog began its history in Blacksburg more than 50 years ago, and today offers a product portfolio including slip rings, motors, resolvers, and fiber optic components.

Moog Components Group also has operations in Galax, Va., Murphy, N.C., Naples, Fla., Springfield, Penn., Halifax, Canada, and Reading, England, which manufacture additional product lines. Moog Components Group is a business unit of Moog, Inc.,
