Blue Grass and Old-time Music Jamboree

Bent Hickory, a bluegrass band, and Reed Island Rounders, playing an old-time music, will kick off the new season for New River Community College’s Fiddle, Banjo and Dance Club with performances on Saturday, October 11.

The bluegrass and old–time music jamboree will be held in Edwards Hall, room 117 from 7 to 10 p.m. at New River Community College’s campus in Dublin.

The doors open at 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission; however, donations will be accepted to help pay travel expenses for the musicians. The Jamborees are held the second Saturday of each month from October through April at NRCC.

Other groups scheduled to perform throughout the coming season are John Viers & Friends and Appalachian Mountain Girls on November 8, The Highlanders and Whitetop Mountain on December 13, Appalachian Ramblers and Zephyr Lightning Bolts on January 10, Bluegrass Kinsmen and Buck Mountain on February 14, Adam Larkey & Mountain Time and The Bogtrotters on March 14, and The VW Boys and Whitetop Mountain on April 11.
