FloydFest ’08 is right around the corner (July 24-27), but with so many musical acts, how do you decide who you should see? Take a speed date and see if this act is right for you!
Band name? Railroad Earth
Where is the band based? New Jersey
Where do you typically tour? Railroad Earth tours nationally.
What’s your most recent CD? Amen Corner, released June 10, 2008, on SCI Fidelity Records.
Are you signed to a label? Yes, SCI Fidelity Records.
Who are your musical influences? The Beatles, Tom Petty, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Acoustic Syndicate, Old and In the Way, Sam Bush, The Pogues, The Band, Bob Dylan, Jack Hardy, Ben Harper, to name a few…
Who are some musical acts that sound like you? No shortage of Grateful Dead comparisons these days it seems. I’m sure you can come up with something more original, though.
Why should I come see you? Because you’ve probably never seen an acoustic band that rocks as hard as we do. In fact, I guarantee it.
When will you be playing? Friday, July 25 from 9-11 p.m. on the Dreaming Creek Main Stage.
What are you most looking forward to about playing FloydFest? The drive in, the food backstage, seeing old friends, playing on that main stage, and being in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
